Secret Shine - The Beginning And The End (2011)

My mind was blown up when I saw Secret Shine playing at Indietracks. In that occasion, they presented the public with some songs of their upcoming album, “The Beginning And The End”. To be more specific the album was released last December 25th, but it’s so fucking good that I will consider it as a 2011 release. This work is breathtaking. I bet even fans weren’t expecting so much quality. There are at least 9 fantastic compositions, which alternate themselves between widely spread band’s sonority and unexpected pop melodies, putting them closer to bands such as The Legends, Trembling Blue Stars and Club 8. I inserted Shoegaze tag, but the band almost left these influences, the whole album is supplied with dream-pop melodies, sometimes shiny, sometimes  atmospherics. The last two songs are something else! Believe me, it will take you to another world. I have to confess this is becoming into my favourite dream-pop album ever, I have never listened anything so deep, pop and genial at same time in this genre. That’s why I gave the album a very high rating. ”The Beginning And The End” is the current masterpiece.
